Toyota developed and introduced new GD series Diesel engines in year 2015 replacing KD series engines. The new GD series engine features Economy with Superior Thermal Efficiency Combustion (ESTEC) technology. Toyota Industries Engine India (TIEI) plant, the state-of-the-art facility is the first Diesel Engine Plant of Toyota in India and third globally, after Japan and Thailand. The introduction of GD series engines not only equips superior technology but also meet the new fuel efficiency policies mandate in this country.

TIEI manufactures and supply various functional parts used in two types of Manual 5 Speed Transmissions manufactured in India and Thailand. These functional parts are bifurcated into Small functional parts and Large Parts. These transmissions are largely used in IMVs like Innova and in Sedans across Etios models.
